People And Their Thrift Store Art Paintings

A is for ALPHABET

I’ve created my first educational book of thrift store art, designed especially for sophisticated children and immature adults

PROCESS

Writing the book was surprisingly easy, and the illustrations are all from my collection of thrift store art, created by a whole lot of different artists.

Alphabet book 05

INCLUSION

Each of the 20 pages is filled with art, covering every letter of the entire alphabet, from A to Z. Literally.

STIMULATING

The pictures are, I believe, appropriate for almost any age, and may even stimulate educational conversations between younger readers and those supervising them.

SAFETY

The book measures 6″x 6″and the pages are made of  1/16” thick board and have nice, safe rounded corners, so there’s little chance of eyes being poked out.

The MISSION:

Rescuing Thrift Store Art from neglect.

Over the years I’ve learned to buy less thrift store art than I once did, focusing on the ‘Quality Questionable‘ over the ‘Quantity Questionable‘. I have donated many unsold paintings back to Thrift Stores, given them to friends who want them and left them in public places for random strangers to take.

I’ve documented a few of these Social Experiments here

All of the art on Curated Mayhem has been purchased by me from a thrift store, swap meet, yard sale or found in the trash.

They are all original works of art and have not been altered, other than the addition of a title.
